My Precious Kid -- Giveaway of the Week

This week's featured business: My Precious Kid
Kay Green is the Christian wife (29 yrs) of Russell, her high school sweetheart, and mother to "homegrown" kids Melissa 25, Jordan 23, Allison 20 and to Haley 8 years old (adopted at birth). Her granddaughter Madison Kay was born December 2006.

My Precious Kid ID Cards were a result of needing Homeschool ID's for her kids, and an ID for Haley after her adoption. The Car Seat ID card was Kay's brainstorm after seeing car seat ID stickers from the hospital that were messy to remove or change. The Velcro® tags can be changed for new information or a new child. The Luggage Tags are perfect for back packs, diaper bags, booster car seats and daycare or grandma's house. Your child's card speaks for your child when you can't!

Here's some of what they do:
My Precious Kid products include ID cards, DNA and Fingerprint Kits, First Aid Kits, ID Bracelets, Shoe ID Stickers and ID Shoe Tags, Baby Sling, Safety Tips Book, Medical Records Book, Toothprints products and Travel products.

Here's what they're giving away:

WOW! I have been wanting to get this done. I keep forgetting about it, but I think it's SO important! Anything can happen anywhere and these little items can make a HUGE difference!

I would love to win one of these. It's important to have the id set to help get all the information in one place. I always take a photo of my kids in what they have on whenever we go somewhere where there's lots of people. I take the pic before we start playing, etc. So in case they get lost or worse, I can be specific about what they were wearing.

I would love to win this.....what mother wouldn't! Wow! What a mom, Michelle I wouldn't even think about taking her picture before we go somewhere.

What can you say about products like this - they're invaluable. Should something happen, your mind would be in such a panic that I imagine it might be hard to recall little things like what they were wearing. Great idea.

What a great idea! I've never had a situation where I've lost one of my own, but my cousin was lost for while when he was 2. He was at his grandparents when he wandered off into a cornfield and was lost for several hours. A rescue dog ended up finding him. Having my own children now, I couldn't imagine what my Aunt was going through while he was lost!

I looked just the other day and there were 12 sex offenders in a ten mile radius of my home. Not sure if problems or just awareness is increasing but we have to protect our children.

I consider myself a pretty overprotective mom, so I don't ever let my little ones stray out of my sight. As they grow a little older, though, and go to friends' houses, to school, camp, etc., I think a product like this will definitely be useful and needed. I so wish we didn't even have a need for these kinds of things, but I am glad these types of items are available.
Thanks!

Safety is incredibly important - there is so much information kids would need to remember if they got lost etc. Not to mention the piece of mind products like these would give ME! Thanks! afdr3d@umkc.edu

This is important because you never know what can happen. Did you hear about the Israli couple on vacation who left their 3 year old in the airport on accident? I can't imagine it would happen to me... but it does happen.

I think this is so important especially with all the Amber Alerts you hear about.

I would love to win this. I am a big time worrywart. Especially when it comes to kids. My 6 year old is very shy and does not talk around strangers.I am always afraid that she will get lost and whoever finds her will not know how to get her home. This giveaway is important one because it is something every parent should have.

My first instinct is to click out and not think about this. It's so scary. I have pinned notes in my sons pockets when we've gone to crowded places. The thought of collecting DNA and having the dentist's info is horribly depressing. I can see why it's important but it's really difficult. I need to get over it and this would really help. Thanks for the giveaway.

this no longer is a want it, parents need it because of how the world has become..this doesn't mean be afraid of the world and strangers but be aware of whats going on in the world, be prepared and be on your toes in life

Because you can never be too careful with your child's safety.

I like the title of this post "precious kid." When a car or a laptop gets stolen, it can be replaced. Kids can't be replaced! I think this is a great safety kit. Thanks!

Heather said...

My favorite part of the kit is the car seat ID. I just brought my daughter home from the hospital and they had some to put on her carrier. I don't have one for my son's seat though. These would be great if you got into a car accident and were non responsive because it has contact information on it so that the hospital knows who to call. I would love to have this for my kids. It seems like in this day and age, no one should go without something like this.

Every parent needs this, especially when it's all in one place, organized. Great prize. I never had a scare, but it's good to be prepared.

I just bookmarked the My Precious Kid site yesterday to show my husband. Last week I brought my four year old on the train to manhattan for an appointment and after we were done we walked a block to Toys R Us to buy something. We entered the store and my son was busy looking at the electric doors while I took one step away to get a flier and suddenly I heard him scream MOMMY! and run out the door. Apparently he didn't see me and thought to run back to the doctors office, luckily I found him right away. As soon as he calmed down we reviewed our safety tips about what to do when lost. On advice from a baby magazine I decided to get him shoe tags with my cell number in case he ever got lost again. I sure hope it never happens again but this time we'll play it safe and get him some ID tags.

This is a great idea!! I'm always scrambling for good shower gifts - I'll have to keep this in mind! I know it would come in handy with my 2 year old - he loves to run as fast as he can away from me and hide in clothing racks, etc!

I don't know how, but I would share this with my cousin who has a child with severe mental retardation. She is older now and wandering off on her own. She doesn't speak, so it is extremely important to have this type of identification. My little one is 3 and on the contrary extra loving and trusting of just about everyone. Scary at times.

Safety products are important for all children. They are invaluable when they can give information to people who can help when you can't.

I like this product because you can do everything at home. Everyone should make sure they keep these records in a fireproof safe. I had this done when my guys were little because you just never know. If the worst happens, these kits can be a life-saver. Thanks!
